The project I worked on with Mark involved 40 schools, 40 strong and brilliant people with 100 opinions each, and 1,001 data points. You'd think the prospect of producing a deliverable from that recipe would scare off any rational consultant. Well Mark rushed in head-first, first helping us organize the challenges we were trying to solve, then outlining the processes to get us there efficiently, and then producing the reports and presentations that gave us the clarity. Along the way, he was patient and thoughtful, consistently pushing our thinking to the next level, daring us to think bigger. I'd highly recommend Mark!
Mark is an inspiring thought leader in the alumni and advancement profession. I have been fortunate to hear from Mark during presentations and have also participated in a fantastic workshop in Australia. Mark is forward thinking and applies business logic and robust analysis to a field which has traditionally been difficult to quantify. His workshops allow you to think about alumni relations in a completely different way and he emphasises frameworks that blend the creative and the human side of alumni relations with data driven and evidence based decisions. His global experience and networks bring a unique perspective to his teachings. His workshops are engaging, interesting, invigorating and highly recommended.
Mark Sollis came on board in early 2019 as a consultant with MRU's Office of Alumni Relations, during a critical period of transformation in the institution's goals and expectations for alumni engagement. We have achieved in a year with Mark what would have likely taken us at least three years without him.
Mark has proved to be an incomparable and extremely knowledgeable "one-stop" resource for global best practices and benchmarking in alumni engagement. As part of his consulting services he has: helped our team to identify and focus on the most high-impact strategic priorities; provided online individual coaching and advice to team members regarding their specific portfolios; conducted research and prepared discussion papers and framework models; and led full-day learning and planning sessions.
The areas he has provided advice on include: developing strong governance and engagement strategies for our alumni association representative body; framing and implementing an alumni engagement scoring model; increasing revenue through affinity and other partnerships; and transforming the delivery of alumni programming and content through digital channels.

In my role as director at Queensland University of Technology has been very fortunate to have worked closely with Mark Sollis on the development of our Alumni Engagement Metrics Framework. Mark has extensive, international experience in alumni relations as a whole, and alumni engagement metrics, in particular. He helped guide us through the nuances and complexities associated with selecting a framework which makes sense from an industry point of view, but, more importantly, one which works specifically for QUT.
